Making a difference

Measuring the carbon footprint is a key factor in the water treatment industry.

Did you know that it's now possible to get a real-time carbon footprint insight into any moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR) – sequencing batch reactor (SBR) project you have?

When it comes to the plastic profile designed for your product there are several ways to reduce your carbon footprint, directly or indirectly. We show you how.

We co-create solutions that leverage these benefits.

Join us at IFAT 2024 from May 13-17! We are excited to see you at the Dutch pavilion, booth A3. 217-316.

Tailored filtration profile solutions

MBBR system installations filter water by inserting large amounts of biomedia into the water tank. Small polyethylene or polypropylene carriers support the growth of bacteria, which biodegrades the waste in the water, resulting in a clean effluent.

Biofilm carriers are very effective cleaners of process water and are used worldwide in wastewater systems and for cleaning process water in a wide range of industries including aquaculture.

Built to last, built to perform

Primo's extruded filtration profiles resist harsh environments, chemicals, and UV radiation, ensuring long-lasting performance in your wastewater treatment system. Thanks to the inert nature of the plastics, they won't react with wastewater components, preventing harmful substances from leaching into the water and avoiding any interference with the biological treatment process.

Commitment to sustainability

Plastics can be the right choice when it comes to sustainability because they are durable, non-reactive, lightweight and low maintenance.

At Primo, we have set specific sustainability targets for the whole group, with the overall aim of helping our customers to reduce their CO2 emissions. Our FUTURE FIT programme aims to continuously explore new material combinations that include recycled plastics, bio-based plastics, recyclable plastics and/or material types and blends that improve the sustainability profile of the end product in terms of energy efficiency, durability, maintenance, weight and more.

Modern production

More flexibility

Due to our advanced knowledge in plastics and biomedia design, we can influence factors such as density and remain high tolerances on shape and length of our profiles. Such factors differ per application and are an essential part of the performance of the profile.

Varietey of materials

We work with various materials for MBBR profiles. HDPE and PP are very commonly used materials in these markets. We offer virgin materials and high-performance mixtures, Today, Primo can provide ISO 14025 certified recycled post-consumer regrind profiles, positively impacting CO2 emissions.

Long lasting solutions

In normal circumstances, our MBBR biofilm remains its service life for over 20 years.
